A unique nautical story

Two missions. One goal. Awareness and faster diagnosis of a rare disease.

In June 2025, 16 year old Jona and her father Luka will embark on an incredible adventure – together, they aim to set a Guinness World Record for the longest double-handed dinghy sailing distance, without assistance and without touching land.

Their mission? To raise awareness of a rare and life threatening disease – pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) – and to collect funds for the next big step that will carry their message even further.

In September 2025, Uroš Kraševac, an exceptional Slovenian sailor, plans to sail across the Atlantic in the extreme solo regatta Mini Transat. It’s a raw and elemental sailing challenge, held every two years since 1977.

In this race, each sailor must cross the Atlantic completely alone in a boat only 6.5 meters long – without advanced navigation systems and without any contact with the outside world.

This widely media-covered and high-impact event represents one of the most effective platforms for raising awareness – where Uroš intends to make full use of it. Throughout this extraordinary challenge, he will be a strong voice for PAH – a disease that takes your breath away, quite literally.

The Mini Transat isn’t a race you simply sign up for – it’s a journey that demands months of preparation. For this reason, all proceeds from The Breathless Mission – the Guinness World Record attempt – will be fully allocated to securing Uroš Kraševac’s entry into the race.

Together, we can make pulmonary hypertension visible – and show the world that even when life takes your breath away, there is still wind in your sails.

The longest unsupported distance sailed in a double-handed dinghy without land contact

June 13–23, 2025

Setting sail in a BENETEAU First 14 SE sailboat

Exact start date and location will be announced later – depending on the weather. The entire sailing will take place in the Adriatic sea.

Arguably the toughest solo regatta

Mini Transat – the Atlantic crossing on the smallest ocean racing sailboat

Start of the Mini Transat race – Les Sables d’Olonne, France

BENETEAU First 14 SE – our dinghy

The term “dinghy” is widely used to describe small boats or sailboats. However, for a boat to be classified as a dinghy, it must meet two basic criteria: it must be cabinless and must not have a weighted keel or fixed rudder.

In our case, we are sailing an exceptionally light, responsive, and sporty sailboat Beneteau First 14 SE, 4.3 meters in length, designed for two sailors. Built for speed, fun, and easy transport.

No cabin. No engine. Everything depends on the wind, personal readiness, and determination. A perfect choice for a record-setting challenge – without external support and without any physical contact with land.

Mini 6.50 – the smallest offshore racing class with maximum performance

The Mini 6.50 is a 6.5-meter offshore racing and the smallest ocean class sailboat. Despite its compact size, the boat delivers outstanding performance thanks to its lightweight carbon fiber construction and high sail-to-weight ratio. Purpose-built for speed in all conditions, the Mini 6.50 is optimized for downwind performance and planning above the waves. The cabin is extremely minimalist – no bunk, no galley – only essential navigation equipment and survival gear. Every component is reduced to what’s necessary for offshore endurance and racing efficiency.

  • Length: up to 6.50 m
  • Beam (width): up to 3.00 m
  • Draft: up to 2.00 m (depending on keel configuration)
  • Construction: typically carbon fiber, composites, sandwich structure
  • Displacement: approximately 900–1000 kg; very lightweight hull with a large sail area

Mini Transat – Technical Profile of the Race and Class

The Mini Transat is a solo transatlantic sailing race reserved for Mini 6.50 class boats – offshore racing sailboats designed specifically for open-ocean competition.

The race is held every two years and consists of two legs:

  • Leg 1: Les Sables d’Olonne (France) → Canary Islands (~1,350 NM)
  • Leg 2: Canary Islands → Caribbean (Guadeloupe, ~2,700 NM)

The total distance covered is app. 4,000 nautical miles.

Key technical requirements and restrictions:

  • No advanced navigation systems (no chartplotters, no internet – only paper charts, compass)
  • No external assistance (sailors are fully self-reliant)
  • Any communication with the outside world except via VHF is forbidden
  • Autopilot is allowed and essential for survival

Due to the small size of the boats and complete isolation, the Mini Transat is considered to be one of the most raw and demanding challenges in the sailing world.

Mission

Pulmonary hypertension: a lung and heart disease with non-specific symptoms

Društvo za pljučno hipertenzijo Slovenije

Shortness of breath, fatigue, dizziness – symptoms we often attribute to other illnesses or simply to feeling unwell. But sometimes, these very signs point to a rare and serious condition – pulmonary hypertension.

We want to support patients who face daily limitations that most of us don’t even notice.

We aim to raise awareness of this disease, which can significantly reduce the time between the first symptoms and receiving a proper diagnosis and treatment.

An early diagnosis can greatly improve the quality of life for patients.

Without appropriate supportive treatment, the rapid progression of the disease can lead to the last resort for survival – a lung and/or heart transplant, and sadly, sometimes even death.

Two to begin.
One for the ocean.
All for the same breath.
